Mc Claren’s Falls Bridge

‘‘SQUEEK!’‘ Went the door as it swung open. Cold wind bit my legs with cold razor sharp teeth. I ran down to the bridge, I walked along the steel on the outside of the bridge. I stopped dead in my tracks as I looked down at the water, the water looked up at me and I looked down at it. The face of the water glistened in the sunlight until my dad said ‘‘Jump’‘

My heart stopped beating, my legs went wobbly, my knees started to shake, my teeth started to chatter. My sisters voice came from behind me ‘‘Jump jump jump!’‘ I fell forward, it felt like I was in the air for 10 seconds. I broke the water with a clean cut. I floated to the surface with a happy face and bubbles.


I walked up the bank to do it again. A wall of rock stood in between me and the path, I tried to climb up but slipped back down vertical surface, I reached up my fingers just crawling over the top of the stone wall pulling myself to the surface, I walked along the dirt path again. There I was again frozen on the bridge.
